Pexcho Presents:
Pugilism History of Baltimore City

Made In Metal Gallery
3600 Clipper Mill Road Suite #130
Baltimore, MD 21211
410.662.6623
Pexcho's New subject matter for his upcoming Gallery Opening is a Historical Perspective on Baltimore's storied Pugilistic History of the late 19th and early 20th Centuries.
Capturing the flavor of the Bold Posters, Handbills and Tickets advertising Bare-Knuckle Bouts that would sometimes last over 40 rounds, Pexcho will have the saga captured on Canvas, Cards and Prints. Pexcho's fascination with the WHY? of two grown men beating each other to a bloody pulp, many times with broken facial and metacarpus bones, has driven Pexcho to chronicle the evolution of Boxing in Charm City.
Pexcho recalls a forgotten History of Ethnicity and Race, where Color Barriers were broken once two men entered The Ring. Names such as "The Old Master" Joe Gans, Jake Kilrain, and "The Black Demon" Jim Janey; lost heroes of an Elite Boxing City, are just a few represented in Pexcho's works.

Well, you can't, unless you are one of D.C.'s Snooty Tooty people... This group show is by invitation only, for both artist and patron...
The artists have to paint onto a old recycled DC banner that hung from one of the many light poles in DC...Below are the two banners that Pexcho has completed...
