Benjamin Harrison Franklin

Born in Baltimore, Maryland to Jewish-Irish parents, Benjamin began boxing professionally in 1901 at age 14 and 114#.  "Benny" had 184 fights, losing only 7.  After his boxing days were over, Franklin joined with Sammy Harris in 1920.  After the death of Harris, Benny started the Olympia Athletic Center on Franklin and State Streets, with the assistance of Matchmaker Lou Fisher.  Benny Harrison Franklin brought two World Championsip fights to Baltimore.
