Al Herford - Boxing Promoter

Abraham L Herford was a Pimlico Bookmaker and Fleet Street Restaurant Manager.  Al was also a Prizefight Promoter of the Eureka Athletic Club on Shell Road, from 1895 to 1910.

Joe Gans referred to him as "Crooked" after he was told to take a fall in a bout with Terry McGovern at a Chicago fight in 1900.
